 @Mail 4.6 Released

November 28, 2006

After 3 months of development since the previous release, we are proud to present the latest version of @Mail for our customers. The new release contains over 60+ changes and enhancements to the source-code.

This is a major new release and contains many new features, optimizations, user-interface changes and bug-fixes from the previous release.

Major changes include:

* Video Mail Support - Users can send and receive video messages via the Web interface of @Mail, no special plugins required, just Flash which 90%+ of browsers have installed.

With the wide adoption of Video use on the Internet ( Youtube, Google video, etc ), and a large userbase of people that own a Webcam, Video-mail is now at a turning point of wide spread adoption, and we bring you one of the first commercial Webmail products with this feature ready to use and enjoy.

Atmail Video Mail

The new video interface from @Mail will allow you to take your communication platform to the next level. Whether you use your email for business or keeping in touch with loved ones, the expressive content of a short video goes well beyond what is possible with text or even HTML. Join us in the next generation of messaging platforms.

* Major Anti-Spam Improvements - During late 2006 Spam has surged to record heights with the introduction of new worms and virii infected machines. We rise to the challenge and have further refined and improved the Anti-spam features of @Mail. New Anti-Spam features include:

SPF support, URI Blacklists, Auto-white list features, new Spam definitions downloaded daily, Spam throttling via Webmail, and blocking high Spam scoring messages at SMTP runtime to reduce overhead on resources.

New Atmail Anti-Spam support

Now there is no need for an external Spam-filter or appliance, @Mail can handle all these functions inbuilt without an investment in another product or utility, and your users can enjoy the Webmail interface of @Mail to alter and monitor their Spam preferences and messages.

* New @Mail Ajax Calendar - This new module has taken us many months to refine, and we are happy to launch the new Calendar for our customers. The entire Calendar is now powered by Ajax, and uses Javascript to create elements on the fly via the DOM.

This translates to a super quick user-frontend, drag and drop support, auto creation of events/tasks, edit overlay of events, automatic resize of events, and support for all interfaces in @Mail.

@Mail Ajax Calendar

Move over Gmail calendar, @Mail’s version is more lightweight, has a slicker user-interface, runs on your own server, for your customers and clients, and you have complete access to the source-code to modify and rebrand.

* Other changes include native Safari support for the Ajax interface, new Webadmin features, auto-login feature, User-interface tweaks, mail-server optimizations and much more. Please see the changelog for the complete details.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our clients for supporting @Mail since 1998. We are in the process to position @Mail as one of the premium Webmail and Mail-server vendors, and you can look forward to see your investment in the @Mail software go a long way into the future for your company and users.

We aim to bring you some of the latest technologies on the market, and keep on innovating, not imitating like so many other companies!

Thank you,

~ Ben Duncan, @Mail Founder, Australian HQ.
