 Development updates for Atmail 6

October 30, 2008

Hi All.

Atmail 6 development is going well, we are pushing ahead.

As of today the caching engine has been fine tuned to reduce overhead on the disk and remote streams (IMAP and POP3 connections)

Search functionality has also been updated to encompass the features/inefficiencies of the different mail sources.

Maildir will use Lucene, IMAP will use IMAP search facilities, POP3 will be implemented next.

UTF-8 handling of encoded character sets has also been basically implemented.

From here we will begin front end implementation, hence still no screen shots yet :)

Watch this space, at Atmail 6 continues to take shape.

As always your suggestions are welcome, please drop us a line.

Kind regards

Allan
