Atmail 6.1.1 available - OSX & Suse support, improved search and migration scripts

Today we announce Atmail 6.1.1, which includes full OSX support for Snow Leopard server. If you are an existing OSX server administrator, you can use Atmail Webmail as a replacement for the bundled Squirrelmail and offer your mail users an enhanced Webmail platform, full integration with the existing CalDAV server, and use Atmail’s stunning Web UI.

Atmail - OSX Snow Leopard Server - Installation
Suse Enterprise Server 11 & OpenSuse 11 are now fully supported for the server-edition of Atmail. Complete mailserver, CalDAV and Webmail client features, including dependency installation on the host server.

Included in the new 6.1.1 release is improved ArchiveVault integration via the Webadmin - Enable/Disable archiving and configure Atmail with ease.

In addition the new Atmail 6.1.1 release contains a host of new features and enhancements, these include:

  • Native Package installer for Snow Leopard Server - Webmail edition
  • Full support for Suse Server 11 / OpenSuse 11 - Server + Webmail edition
  • Webadmin
  • Support to enable/disable domains via the Admin panel - Disable a client or problematic domain
  • Added ArchiveVault integration via the Webadmin panel - Enable/Disable archiving with ease
  • Search
  • New search pane, results can be either displayed in the 2 pane or 3 pane view. With pagination and sort support for results.
  • Support for Apache Solr - Fulltext search and Lucene powered results via IMAP. Create a search engine for your users mail content, data mine messages better.
  • Migration
  • New CLI tool migrate-imap.php, for importing existing user data and folders into Atmail 6
  • Core
  • Added HTML Purify support into Atmail - Improves XSS detection and cleaning input from users for malicious scripts/tags via Webmail
  • Added support for PHP 5.3

  • Improved Webadmin Relay panel for removing IPs and avoiding duplicate entries on creation
  • Added Max connections per IP for the SMTP settings panel

  • Supporting the \NoSelect flag for IMAP folders in the UI
  • Improved threading code and performance
  • Fixed signature appending for saved message drafts
  • Changed folder count to “unread” rather then number of messages
  • Added quickview for CC field when viewing messages
  • Fixed session timeout for Webmail/Admin logins

  2. @Jono - CardDAV is a feature we’ll be adding in the next major release - A CardDAV / Addressbook client in the Atmail Webmail UI, and adding a CardDAV server for the mail-server edition of Atmail.

  3. Not a big deal, but might want to add a chown/chmod task to the upgrade process. I often forget to do this manually and it causes hiccups. Thanks.

  4. Fantastic product!

    However, I upgraded not knowing the email routing facility would not be included in the new version. This hurts like a distended cow, since I subscribe to almost a dozen lists and use a central email account to manage a few others (mail is forwarded, etc). I’ve had to resort to procmail :(

    Anyway, great product and I look forward to updates when these small issues will hopefully be addressed.

  5. @Henry - Atmail 6.1.3 is now released, with Sieve/Email filtering support! This is a major step up from Atmail 5’s old email filters, now with improved rule matching, Sieve support, SMTP time delivery to folders, and a new UI.
